Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the first volume in a series of seven books by British author J. K. Rowling and featuring the fictional character, Harry Potter, a young wizard. The first book was published 30 June 1997 by Bloomsbury in London, and has also been made into a feature-length film of the same name. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fourth book in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Published on July 8, 2000, the release of this book was surrounded by more hype than any other book in recent times outdone only by its successors, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It was fairly large for a children's book -- at 636 and 734 pages (hardback British and American editions respectively). The book attracted a lot of attention owing to a pre-publication warning from J.K. Rowling that one of the characters would be murdered in the book. This started a stream of rumour and speculation as to who the murdered character would be. The publication of Goblet of Fire caused unprecedented heights of Pottermania to be reached internationally. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth book in the Harry Potter series of books by J. K. Rowling. This book details Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts and efforts by the Ministry of Magic to take control of the school while Voldemort plots to acquire a "weapon" that he intends to use to destroy Potter. On 5 April 2006 Warner Brothers announced that the film of the same name, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, would be released in cinemas on 13 July 2007. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, released on July 16, 2005, is the sixth of seven planned novels in J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter series. Set during Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts, the novel explores Lord Voldemort's past, and Harry's preparations for the final battle amidst emerging romantic relationships. In 24 hours, the book sold 6.9 million copies in the United States alone, or 287,564 books per hour, making it the fastest selling book in recent history. It generated over 100 million pounds in sales on its opening weekend, outpacing even the combined take of the top movies at the box office that same weekend. Bookseller Barnes and Noble reported sales averaging 105 copies per second in the first hour of sales. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2007)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series of novels by J. K. Rowling. The title was announced on December 21, 2006 via a special Christmas-themed hangman puzzle on Rowling's website and confirmed shortly afterwards by the book's publishers. Rowling has stated that the final volume relates very closely to the previous book in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, "almost as though they are two halves of the same novel." It is expected to exceed its predecessor as the fastest selling book of all time. American publisher Scholastic announced an initial print run of 12 million copies, together with an advertising campaign, including the staged release of the seven questions most debated by fans. The book is expected to be 608 pages in the British edition, and has been confirmed to be 784 pages in the US edition. Rowling completed the book while staying at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh in January 2007 and left a signed statement on a marble bust of Hermes in her room which read: "JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11 January 2007".
