In yet another set report from the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie we learn that David Heyman refers to the movie set as "...a little city" and thinks that bringing new directors to the franchise brings some freshness to them. We also find out that Dan Radcliffe is thinking about life after movies, Rupert Grint mentions working with Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell and that set designer Stuart Craig took inspiration from the most unlikely settings for the design of the Ministry of Magic. Also we learn of an interview that Tom Felton did recently in which he mentions that he hopes his character (Draco Malfoy) goes out with a bang.
Another set report has appeared online which describes filming scenes in the Ministry of Magic and 12 Grimmauld Place for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Elsewhere on set Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright and James and Oliver Phelps, are filming scenes with extendable ears.
Some new video (in Spanish) from the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has appeared online. The video features a brief glimpse of Spanish actor Axel Amigo, who dubs for the movies, and some scenes showing Dudley & his friends confronting Harry in the playground can be seen.
Some new scans from Scholastic's sticker book featuring images from the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie have appeared online. The new scans show us a young Snape, Harry and Ron, Luna and many more. You can view the scans here and here.
The eponymous character in JK Rowling's record breaking Harry Potter series will live through the end of the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, say over 65,000 fans in HPANA's second quiz on the matter. The informal poll, counting more than 100,000 unique yes or no "live/die" votes over the period of a year, revealed that a fairly even 60%/40% majority feel that Harry will not die in book 7.
Last month a Warner Bros. representative reviewed areas in Scotland for filming locations for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is set to start filming later this year. The locations featured caves and cliffs which may suit key scenes in the movie.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will have a running time of 138 minutes and 4 seconds (2 hours, 18 minutes and 4 seconds), according to the British Board of Film Classification. The BBFC recently rated Order of the Phoenix 12A, meaning no one under 12 years old may see the movie without an accompanying adult. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rated the film PG-13 in the U.S. which places kids under 13 under the same restriction.
If you live in the Chicago area and would be interested in meeting Oliver and James Phelps (the Weasley twins, Fred and George), make sure you make your way down to Hollywood Blvd. a full service restaurant/movie theatre in Woodridge, IL, the weekend of the release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. According to a representative of the movie theatre the twins will be in attendance July 13th through 15th and will be available to meet fans after each showing of the movie.
JK Rowling has updated her site with news that fans can win a chance to attend a book signing with the author on July 21 in London. Fans will also receive a free copy of the seventh book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Tickets are free for this event but can only be received from her publishers.
With 100 days to go before the July 21st release date for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" pre-oreders for the book have brokan all records with the largest numbers of pre-orders in Barnes & Noble history.Barnes & Noble has received more than 500,000 pre-orders and expects this number to surpass one million. The book has been ranked number one on B&N since it became available for pre-order on February 1, 2007. Thousands of fans are also participating in B&N's book club and throughout April, George Beahm, author of Muggles and Magic and Fact, Fiction, and Folklore in Harry Potter's World, will also join in the discussions.
Earlier this afternoon Warner Bros. Pictures released news that Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) have been signed to star in the remaining "Harry Potter" movies.
A new interview with "HP and the OotP" director David Yates is now online. In the first part of the interview Mr. Yates coments on making the film his own, dealing with the actors and the themes of the movie. The second part of the interview is now available online.
